Cat quest merchandise1/3/2024 If you played the first one you also are really going to like this one, even though it is a whole different story. (because in the first game I had no idea what was going on).Ĭontrols are smooth, graphics are fun and side quest are fun too!ĭefinitely recommend this game if you are into cute quirky games. I think the story is fun and quirky and easy to follow. I tried to challenge myself by doing higher lvl dungeons, just to make it a little more interesting. The game is really easy to play, but has it's challenges sometimes, but the second you are a high level, everything becomes a little too easy. It does make this game a stand alone and you don't have to play the first one. I was sad though that this story line has almost nothing to do with the previous one, because I was really curious how the story of the previous one would continue. The game is about cats AND dogs this time, so of course it is an instant sell for me. It's not possible to get all of the achievements in one playthrough. Moreover, there are also too many dungeons where you have to fight three or more rounds of enemies - they become more difficult because of layout and traps but this all feels quite artificial with cheap mechanics.Ĭharacter building is still extremely limited as it depends only on the items that you find, although having a companion adds some role playing as I decided to use the doggo as my mage and the kitty as my fighter. Most of these tasks revolve around fetch quests. The mini-quests feel somewhat repetitive and lack the diversity seen in Cat's Quest I. While this can be exploited to manipulate enemy behaviour, it detracts from the overall challenge and immersion. The AI pathfinding occasionally fails when the enemies are not in a direct line with you. Looking back this isn’t necessary a bad thing – again it reminds me of older games with meaningful rewards but it would have been better to offer difficulty levels from the start. But this seems to be by design as there are quite a few OP rewards. The Not So GoodMagic spells, when combined with a magic staff and your companion, become overpowering, enabling you to conquer dungeons far above your level.
